Anderson Photo Book #150 - Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)Fort Worth Botanical Gardens hosted a "Dia De Los Muertos" (Day of the Dead). I saw this being advertised and thought it might be a good photographic opportunity. I knew of the name of the celebration and I've seen some of the costumes that are worn during this time, but other than that I didn't have any real knowledge of the celebration or history and origins of the event itself. It was a perfect day for an outing and there was a large crowd and many colorful characters that were part of the celebration. They had also invited people to dress up and come in costumes, so that added to the overall effect. I looked around for some information about Dia De Los Muertos for my narration, to include a little bit of background for what we were seeing, and then added some of my own thoughts. I try to keep my Photostories at 10 minutes or less or divide them into one or more parts, but I couldn't find a good place to break this one without losing the continuity so bear with me as I ask for 15 minutes of your time on this one. There are many photos in either different poses or full length and then close-ups of the costumed characters because the costumes were so elaborate and detailed I wanted to provide additional time to view and study them. Click on the photo link below to access "Dia De Los Muertos". Thanks for watching!
